Cheers bud! Sodium Pentothal + Morphine = smiling! Wasn't smiling when I realised I'd had my Dainese armour and Race face jersey cut off thou Frown

Took a while to get to hospital to get treated, so it hurt like a bitch by I got there - the shock of it meant it didn't hurt for the first 20 mins or so - but didn't have to have surgery. Just back on wheel now...15 months on Smile

It's usually supplied with a Vivid - not sure what size - but was nice to see a S**toy on it!

Shimano refused to admit these even existed (this Revolt was on the Shimano stand)...it's a story I've heard the web-over! The rims, spokes and nipples looked pretty standard - nothing special - laced to standard Saint hubs, so maybe these were stickered-up OEM rims, but as the Athertons have been running Saint-branded rims too this year, it would be hard to believe that Shimano don't have something in the pipeline...

As far as I know, this is the only one in the UK. Had a sit on it and it felt...well, like nothing else I've ever sat on! Maybe it was the S**toy shock, maybe the unique FCS suspension system, maybe both, but it was smooth like nothing else I've ever tried! Ok, so it was hardly a test ride, but I'd love to try this very very soon. On the downside, the cockpit felt very short and too slack (more to do with the bar angle than anything else probably) but a little too cramped for me, and I'm only 5'6"! Maybe needs a layback post or a longer stem, but otherwise super aggressive and so incredibly awesomely light...more like an XC bike than a full-tilt DH machine. Very, very tempting...

Yeah, she's a sweet ride. She broke my arm last year in Canada so not been riding for 15 months but I love her so I spend, spend, spend Wink Don't tell her, but one day I might trade her in for a newer (Knolly) model, but she won't be sold, just stripped and then hung on the wall!

Ah, it's coming! We're having a hard time all hooking up together as Farah and I live miles from out other mates who ride Transitions and the weather's invariably crap, but we've got some nice shots in the can and some sweet little sections edited. It's definitely gonna be more flowy than hucks, but there might be some doubles and there's already a bit of shore. Been busting out my best After Effects moves too and doing a little grading and fakery of DOF in the process...well you kinda need to, given my single CCD DV camera. Hoping to get a Canon 7D lined up for the next vid to get some sweet shallow DOF Wink

So no more Devinci then Frown That said, I wouldn't use the Ollie for the Mega unless you put it on a major diet, swung it into the shorter travel setting and got some single crown forks...I binned my 40's and got some '09 Totem coils. Ok, so not much lighter, but feels a lot more manoeuvrable now! Lighter wheels would help a lot too! ^ pretty nice looking bike thou!

Eric Palmer's 'Through the Lens' write-up was a good read a few weeks back, but I bet the Brad Walton Masterclass would kick ass! What wonders do you have in that Dakine Sequence pack (hey, like the plug?!) or are you rocking Vaude now?

Cheers mate...will look into those! The Neuron looks - from here - pretty much like a Minion DHF and both look at little skinny, but then again these Devincis are beasts so the casings are probable pretty normal!

Thanks...she's been through a lot of changes (2nd set of wheels, 2nd chain device, 2nd headset, 3rd set of pedals, 3rd bar/stem combo and 3rd set of forks...all more for aesthetic reasons than anything), but she deserves it. Rides like a dream too Smile

6 years...pah! These Devinci's keep going for years...my 8-Flat-8 (same year as yours) recently got pimped with Transition, Chromag, Chris King and RockShox parts. Built like a tank, and weighs as much too Smile

Make sure you check the pivots though, especially the non-drive side lower one (just above the cranks)...they had a tendency to go. If in doubt, give James at Freeborn a call and they'll fit the official Devinci replacement part.

Happy huckin'

That's great news mate! Once the healing begins, it's just physio all the way! Sometimes that's the hardest and most painful bit and I'd agree that you shouldn't do pushups with a break like that - at least for now Wink.

My 2nd opinion doc said basically the same as yours as my break was across the radial groove where that same nerve kinda spirals round the back of the humerus (I've heard it's a common break site for people you arm-wrestle too)...that's why I didn't have surgery (they started talking about nerve grafts from my leg and stuff and I soooo wasn't up for that!).

Hey, hope the physio goes well and take it easy! We're both on the road (sorry, that should be dirt) to recovery! Smile

Yep, the set is basically a high-end bullet camera 'head', which you plug into your camcorder (so long as it has an AV-in). There's no recorder with this - it's just the miniature bullet camera bit.

There's two models - they look practically identical - a lightweight Cortex DH and a slightly heavier (not by much) Cortex Flow, the Flow being A LOT cheaper...in the UK the Flow goes for around £155 whereas the DH is around £270. The DH is designed for competition racing whereas the Flow is more for everyday use where saving 50g isn't gonna affect your day! These ones are new colourways though, so not sure if there are Flow or DH models - currently they come in off-white and black only, but I'm all up for an orange one Smile

I think you should invest in one of these: http://www.pstechnik.de/en/digitalfilm-mini35-connect.php or http://www.movietube.de/index2.php...or at least see if you can hire one (bit cheaper that way). I've shot on the MOVIEtube and the difference it makes to your footage is absolutely amazing...and I was recording to HDV at the time! But for now, I'm still stuck with my DV camera...ugh!

That's good news! When they re-brake bones, they're meant to do it under local or general anaesthetic, but the doc I saw, after seeing my xrays, thought the bone was strong enough to 'give it a wiggle'...it wasn't and it re-broke! Then the bandaged it up again too tight and that's when I got the lymphedema problems. As for the callus, in the sort term it will prevent a bit of movement, but it needs to form to that it can repairs the bone...think of it like a big ball of dough, with the bones joining inside the middle of it...the callus gets all your body's nutrients, heals the bone, then gradually dissolves over a few months (or probably years in my case as I'm in my 30's!). Lemme know how the 2nd opinion goes...

I'm only shooting on DV at the mo, but hoping to buy 2x Pany HVX201s for work soon. Did the HPX170 allow you to shoot in 60fps mode at 1080 or just 720? To me, that's where Pany have it over Sony...certainly at this end of the kit range. The Pany slo-mo is so fine!

A 2nd opinion sounds very sensible...that's what I had, as the first doctors I saw back in the UK really didn't do a very good job and in fact re-broke it whilst I was NOT under anaesthetic whilst they were trying to see how strong the callus was! That was even more painful than the original break! It may sound odd, but for me, after I had a little bit of bone callus formation, the best thing was to remove the brace completely - as the 2nd doc advised - and use a light brace and a compression/tubi-grip (one of those elastic sock things). To my amazement, the full callus formed so quickly after that. I guess it was no coincidence that I had such slow recovery at the start (with the tight brace) and that I also had bad lymphedema (fluid build up and swelling) in the arm with the first docs...they just did it all up waaaay too tight, so the blood flow was restricted. But I'd really recommend a 2nd opinion...with a different doctor AND hospital if you can! Best of luck!
